1. What should I expect from the appraiser/appraisal?

The client should receive a certified written appraisal with a description of the piece and a dollar value for reproducing the item at current costs.  The description will contain enough detail that the piece can be identified without a photograph.   MLB/JML Contemporary Hooked Rug Appraisers maintain a work file with digital photographs and slides that justify the replacement cost. This record and a copy of the appraisal are retained for a minimum of 5 years. We follow USPAP guidelines.
