7. How do I find an appraiser?

This is extremely difficult.  There are very few people who will appraise new/recent hand hooked art. MLB/JML Contemporary Hooked Rug Appraisers appraise new rugs for insurance replacement value.  Some appraisers may appraise for market value or donation value; this is different from insurance replacement value.  You might ask a well known teacher if they will appraise your piece.  Keep in mind the answers to the other questions on the page when selecting an appraiser.
